Often when a customer contracts O’Neil’s Tree Service to remove a tree they also request that the stump be removed from the property. Most people don’t realize that if the stump looks big above ground it is generally much more impressive below the surface.
O’Neil’s will ask many questions as possible and thoroughly look over the property before recommending any type of stump removal that should be done.
For example, if a customer is planning on putting grass where the tree used to be, it is not neccessary to grind the stump more than 2″ below grade. This information can save quite a bit of time and therefore money. Occasionsally a customer will request stump removal or stump grinding so that they can install a pool in the area where the tree was. This means that the stump must be removed 4′- 6′ below grade in order to make the digging easy on the pool company. Most pool companies don’t have the means of removing large stumps deeply and have to hire us to ensure the job is done right.
